RESVÉS is a workspace for individuals and companies that value sharing, community and innovation. We want different people working closer and growing together, sharing their personal knowledge and experiences. Our name comes from a portuguese word that is forever tied with Campo de Ourique, the neighbourhood where we are situated in. The word Resvés means "just about", "very close", but it is often used in an old portuguese expression that takes its origin to the time when Lisbon was struck by one of the most powerful earthquakes ever known to man, in 1755. The earthquake formed a huge wave that struck the city destroying and flooding most of the downtown area. This wave was so strong it reached the limits of this neighbourhood, but due to its hilly location the place remained unchanged. Since then, the expression "Resvés Campo de Ourique" stands for something that is close to the limit. Here, we want to go beyond the defined limits, approaching them and putting them "very close" to different people, knowledge and territories.
