About this space

Cincinnati Junction, now know as Austell, GA, is a major railroad hub heading west out of Atlanta. In 1872, Glenn Owen Mosley deeded this tract of land to the Cincinnati and Georgia Railroad. The junction serves Birmingham to the west and Chattanooga to the north. As commerce grew, a local economy began to grow around the junction. The famous Lithia Spring water eventually put Austell on the map as a resort town and became known across the country as a destination for health and recreation. Today, Austell (Cincinnati Junction) is home to one of Norfolk Southern’s largest intermodal facilities. The train still runs frequently like it did at it’s inception. The buildings at Cincinnati Junction are original to the town. They pay homage to the town’s origins and capture the essence of the remaining history from as early as the late 1800s.
