Back in the early 2000s, we took on the task of transforming the mill – one of the first in Ancoats to be restored. By 2003, we’d completed the sensitive restoration, creating a space filled with contemporary offices from 620 sq ft, each of them packed with stunning original features. A RIBA Award followed that year and was testament to our efforts – celebrating the fusion of modern design and Victorian architecture. Now, the communities surrounding Waulk Mill have become exciting commercial areas; in Ancoats, just waulk-ing distance from the building’s front door you’ll find an array of awesome bars and eateries – places like Sugo and Rudy’s – you’ll also find “Manchester’s most promising area”** with its own park, marina and the tasty treats at Pollen Bakery.
