Holsteinsgade 63 - 63 Holsteinsgade, 2100, Denmark
Operated by Karberghus
About this space
In No Man's Land Holsteinsgade lies where the land meets the water; between Strandboulevard and the track body in the route of the old Frihavn and Østerbro's large residential square formations that end the city towards the strait. A modest house of smooth-walled rose stone and a typical example of 80s postmodernism – also in Limbo between styles. Traditional materials such as brick are allowed to appear again after times of glass, concrete and large spans; here, the building regulations of the time with a focus on heat loss dictate small wall openings between piles, which allow the house to land on the terrain with natural weight.
